Tuxedo, NY - Ski Sterling Forest opened in December 1961 and many remember learning to ski and snowboard there as a child. Many of those skiers and snowboarders are now bringing their children to the same beloved ski center, albeit bearing the new name Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center.
December 2011 will mark the 50th Birthday for the ski center now known as Tuxedo Ridge. To celebrate, Tuxedo Ridge is offering 50¢ lift tickets this Saturday, March 12, from 9am-5pm.
There is still tons of snow and spring skiing is better than it has been in decades! said James Mezzetti, owner. We wanted to do something special to kick-off the 50th year and 50¢ lift tickets is just the start of the festivities. We plan to celebrate all summer and next winter with fun events and promotions.
In addition to 50¢ lift tickets on Saturday, Tuxedo Ridge is also offering $5 snow tubing for hour-long sessions beginning at 6pm. Sunday, March 13, is the annual Carboard Cup Racewhere participants enter a sled made out of cardboard and duct tape (for free) and race down the mountain.
