Spring Madness Festival at Mont-Sainte-Anne


Beaupre, PQ - From March 26 to April 25, it’s time for every skier and snowboarder to craze things at Mont-Sainte-Anne! The Spring Madness Festival is a time for all to enjoy the most out of the 5 last week-ends of ski season with BBQs and relaxing hot tubs, mechanical snowboard, rail jam, friendly competitions, picnics under the sun, mountain-side sugar shack, outdoor concerts and the best spring skiing conditions on top of everything!

Mont-Sainte-Anne & Stoneham; Wouldn’t Spend School Break Anywhere Else!


Quebec - March 5th to the 13th, spend school break with your beloved ones, friends and family at Mont-Sainte-Anne or Stoneham Mountain Resort! A whole lot of fun activities are scheduled for all ages. Liveliness, music, inflatable games and traditional sugar shack; everything is in place for you to have a good time!

FREE Learning area
While Skiers and snowboarders will breathe fresh air going down the slopes, others can take this opportunity to initiate themselves to the sport at the learning area, where the lift access is totally free at all times at both mountains. Now improved with a 2nd “Magic Carpet” lift, they make the learning process so much easier!

All types of friendly races and competitions
The Mont-Sainte-Anne’s Powerade Young Talent Kids Race is inviting kids from 3 to 14 years old to do their best on the slalom course specially built for them on March 5th. At Stoneham, Radio Team CKOI is making a stop at the mountain on March 5th! As for freestyle lovers, meet up for a friendly half-pipe competition during the Wednesday Rail Jam on March 9th.

All week long, satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the two sugar shacks! Mountain-side at Mont-Sainte-Anne, you can make a stop half-way La Pichard run, where the maple syrup is actually produced on site, to get a tasty treat. At Stoneham, visit a mobile version of the sugar shack located at the base, to eat your favorite maple treat.

Family Fun WARNING During Spring Break at Mont SUTTON!

With the SUTTON Snow School “ski week” program, skiers and snowboarders of all ages will rediscover how school is fun during spring break! Offered from Monday to Thursday, this program includes 14 hours of group lessons, a welcome cocktail, entertainment, friendly race and awards presentation.

Ski 'La Marquis' Run at Stoneham


Stoneham, PQ - This Saturday, February 5th, the freeskier Vincent Marquis will be honored by Stoneham Mountain Resort, who will designate a trail in his name. In recognition of his competitive performance background and for his generous involvement in the ski industry, the resort will proudly rename La Bossa Nova, run #42, in his honor; LA MARQUIS. The official announcement will be made in the presence of the Olympian athlete, during the 2nd part of the Freeski Provincial Circuit, at 1pm.

'Athlete at All Levels'
Skier from the age of 3 and pioneer in the industry, Vincent started mogul skiing on this run at the age of 11. Member of Stoneham Mountain Resort’s Freestyle Ski Club since its beginning in 1994, he trained at the mountain for 7 years prior to joining the Canadian Freestyle Team in 2002. At 23 years of age, he won his first of 8 World Cup podiums at Deer Valley, going home with a Silver Medal. Marquis came 3rd at the 2009 World Championships in Japan, the internationally known freestyle skier also finished 4th at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Let’s also point out that LA MARQUIS run will be hosting the Quebec Games Region Finals on March 19th & 20th, 2011.

10 to 100% rebate at Owl’s Head, Mont SUTTON and Burke Mountain


Sutton, PQ - Again this year, Owl’s Head and Mont SUTTON have joined together to offer rebates on their lift tickets with the return of the Carte Blanche. For the 2010-2011 season, Burke Mountain, a Vermont based ski center, have joined the two resorts in the Eastern Townships.

The carte Blanche allows the customer to choose the participating center they want and save each visit on the regularly priced ticket for the complete day for an adult or student. The very first time you use the card, you save 10% followed by increasing rebates for each subsequent visit by using the card. You can save up to 40% and after each 4th visit, your 5th visit is FREE again at the center of your choice. In total the Carte Blanche offers up to 15 visits of rebated skiing and riding.

Mont SUTTON’s opening : Friday, December 10th

Sutton, PQ - Skiers and snowboarders will start the 2010-2011 season at Mont SUTTON this Friday, December 10th, and this, with great snowy conditions.

An early season rate will be available: $30 for adults (18-64 years old) and $20 for all other categories. This rate will be available until the anniversary day at $5 on December 17th, when Mont SUTTON will celebrate its 50th birthday.

Children aged five and under always ski for free at Mont SUTTON.

Activities during the first opened weekend
In addition to enjoy the first opened weekend of the season at Mont SUTTON, skiers and snowboarders will have the chance to take part to the first activities of the season on Saturday December 11th:

Rider’s Reunion with the Adrenaline team: a special module will be installed at the foot of the trails, close to the main chalet, entertainment, prizes and surprises.
First party of the season at the Bar Le Tucker : the bar will be opened from 2 p.m. and the party will start at 4 p.m. Among the prizes to win, there will be 2 VIP zone passes for 2 people for the show of Les Trois Accords, on December 18th in the occasion of the Mont SUTTON’s great 50-candle celebration.

Mont SUTTON will celebrate its 50th birthday on December 17th, 18th and 19th. In addition to the multitude of activities organized all weekend long, as the anniversary day at $5 on December 17th, the tapas and show evening at the Bar Le Tucker, the torchlight descent, the commemorative dinner… there will be a free outdoor show of the group Les Trois Accords on Saturday evening, which will be followed by fireworks and a party with a DJ at the Bar Le Tucker.

Freestyle Takes Stoneham Mountain Resort to the Next Level


Stoneham, PQ - In March 2010, Stoneham Mountain Resort officially became a National Training Center for both locals and worldwide athletes. On top of what, the resort is proud to keep evolving with new infrastructures and services. No wonder why the next step for the station this season was to proudly welcome Nicolas Bonne in its team, a pro athlete for whom knowledge doesn’t come without a touch of style and enthusiasm.

Originally from France, Nicolas has not only been part of the half-pipe build for Tignes Europe Winter X-Games, but also worked for 3 years as part of HO5 Freestyle Park Development Company, well-known for its work in France. This season, Stoneham will be profiting from his European expertise as he will take part of the actual projects at the mountain. Bonne is very excited to take on the challenge: “I see Stoneham’s Snow Park as a big playground where I’m more than happy to spend the season”.

A Great Celebration at Mont SUTTON : 50 Candles, 50 Years of Passion and Trois Accords!



Sutton, PQ - Mont SUTTON will celebrate its 50th anniversary on December 17th and the festivities will continue all weekend long, on December 18th and 19th. This great 50-candle celebration of Mont SUTTON will conclude all in beauty this 50th season that just passed, in addition to celebrate passion of skiing since 1960.

In this special occasion, the music band Les Trois Accords will offer a free outdoor show on Saturday evening, followed by fireworks. Mont SUTTON invites all winter sports passionate to take part to the party during this unique weekend!

Bud Light November Chill 2010; Stoneham’s Biggest Pre-Season Party!


Stoneham, PQ - It’s on Friday November 19 that Stoneham Mountain Resort will be sending off its winter season with its legendary pre-opening party, the Bud Light November Chill! This 4th edition is quite ‘THE’ happening you don’t want to miss, with already over a 1000 attendees confirmed on the Facebook event page. Come celebrate and be merry! On the program: Freestyle Rail Jam with up to 1500$ to be awarded, industry reps with their 2011 winter collections, ski & snowboard movies, DJs, and loads of fun.

All you need to know about the party

  • The Quatre-Foyers Bar will be combined to the Main Lodge this year, to optimize the capacity and welcome up to 1200 people. Ticket pre-sale is currently at $10+taxes at D-Structure & Empire shops in Québec City. Hurry-up, there is only a limited quantity available and tickets at door for $20 are not guaranteed!
  • Right at 6 o’clock, boys and girls are invited to participate in a Rail Jam for their chance to win up to 1500$ total. Helmet & Park Pass are mandatory. You will also need to sign up for a small $10 + taxes fee and you’re good-to-go! If you’re on site at that time, come cheer friends and other participants!
  • From 8PM to 10PM, it’s all eyes on screen for all new 2011 footage with Stadaconé, ESK Media’s skiing movie chef-d’oeuvre and Next Level, Brothers Factory’s epic snowboard movie. Then, the heat will go up with DJ`Maude and DJ`Psychology explosive mixes from 10PM to 3AM.

    Mont SUTTON’s improvements for the 2010-2011 ski season


    Sutton, PQ - For the 2010-2011 season, Mont SUTTON has improved in several departments of the station.
    New “Petits Wapitis Learning Park”
    Winter sport beginners of all ages will develop their skills in the brand new “Petits Wapitis Learning Park”. This new park is located in the Family zone on the “Cendrillon” trail and was inspired by Western Canada. It suggests a trip to Banff: Far West, the Rockies, wild animals… The objective of the learning park is to make learning fun, dynamic and interactive.

    The SUTTON Snow School will use this new learning park to teach beginners different technical skills, whether skiing or snowboarding. The learning park will also be accessible to all those who want to improve their skills, with or without a Snow School lesson.

    An All-terrain Club has been added to the weekend programs
    The SUTTON Snow School now offers an All-terrain Club for skiers and snowboarders as a weekend program. The name of this program says it all; throughout this program, skiers and snowboarders will develop their skills through race course, moguls, glades and snow park. A great program for everyone who loves SUTTON and its diversity!

    Still Three Colorful Weekends at Mont SUTTON’s Fall Festival


    Sutton, PQ - Mont SUTTON’s fall festival is ongoing every weekend and this until October 17th. Colors are at the rendez-vous, as well as many outdoor and nature lovers. The best of the Mont SUTTON’s fall festival awaits you! With three more weekends of activities and workshops, including several new ones this year, you will understand the meaning of words like nature, colors, fun, physical exercise and relaxation.

    In addition to the multitude of activities that take place each weekend, one will also enjoy the popular chairlift ride, workshops for kids, BBQ with some local produce and music at the foot of the mountain.

    Sutton : A Mountain and Area Rich in Activities during Summer




    Sutton, PQ - There is so much to do during the summer in Sutton! The 100% nature escapade takes all its sense at less than 30 minutes from the highway 10.     -XTRAIL Asics : A sportive gathering not to be missed!
    On May 29th, walkers and runners are invited to the exceptional XTRAIL Asics challenge. This race, which will take place into the great trails of the Parc d’environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS), is for all levels and ages of walkers and runners. A category for the 6-14 years old is also available! Spectators are very welcome to encourage the participants!

    For a 34th edition, the Federation of Swiss Societies in Eastern Canada organizes a great celebration at Mont SUTTON’s main chalet. This special day is the perfect opportunity to find out more about this culture; the Swiss National Day celebration at Mont SUTTON is the most important one after the one taking place in Switzerland. Activities and shows are scheduled all day long on July 31st and will continue till late at night, rain or shine! Come to discover this rich Swiss community : music, food, traditional costumes and even more. This day will be unforgettable for all the family.

    End of the Ski Season : Mont SUTTON Gives Way to the Summer



    Sutton, PQ - Mont SUTTON’s 50th ski season ended on April 7th. It has been an historic season, filled with a multitude of events, of festivities, of emotions, of constant precipitations throughout the winter giving us, once again, splendid ski conditions and, all this, in the warm atmosphere that makes SUTTON’s notoriety.

    The Snow on the Beach, which was scheduled on April 10th, will be postponed to next season since the ski season is over.

    One thing is sure; the ski and snowboard fanatics have been spoiled by Mother Nature during all the season and the Easter long weekend! They have been able to make the most of exceptional spring skiing conditions under the sun to finish the ski season beautifully!

    Vincent Marquis and P-A Rousseau back from Vancouver … Celebrate the Bud Light Fest at Mont-Sainte-Anne!


    Beaupre, PQ - A not-to-be-missed happening will take place this Saturday, April 10th, for the occasion of the well-known festivities of the Volkswagen Spring Madness; the Olympian Bud Light Fest! After their breathtaking performance during the Olympics in the acrobatic moguls discipline, Vincent Marquis (4th) and Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau (5th) will celebrate their comeback at Mont-Sainte-Anne, taking part in a friendly mogul race open to all! True to itself, the resort will prepare smoking BBQs, outdoor hot tubs and live music shows at the base of the mountain!

    The Olympian Bud Light Fest – Friendly Mogul Race Open to All
    Everyone is more than welcomed to take part or to assist in the friendly race that will take place in La Soumande, located on the North side of the mountain. Registrations will start at 8:30am, in front of the Sports Alpins shop for the cost of $5. The race will start at 11am with a spectacular dual descent of the Olympians and from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, they will be available for an autograph session at the terrace on the summit, where BBQs, DJ and a bar will be set up for the occasion. In addition to this, the band Bestov will offer a unique cover line-up from 3:30, while the first part will be played by acoustic cover band Banquette Arrière, from 12:30pm!

    Sutton, PQ - Spring skiing is definitely at its peak at Mont SUTTON! It’s time or never to enjoy it during the long Easter weekend!

Among others : the Réal’s Challenge this Saturday April 3rd with ski until the sunset and activities for the whole family on Easter Sunday! Not mentioning the Snow on the Beach next April 10th.     The Spring Skiing Ecstasy at Mont SUTTON


    Sutton, PQ - The Easter weekend will certainly be the ideal moment to enjoy spring skiing at Mont SUTTON. The sunny forecasts and the warm weather will definitely give to Mont SUTTON a great and festive spring atmosphere!

    With still plenty of snow on the trails, the BBQ at the foot of the hill, the smell of the sunscreen, the people sunbathing on the terrace of the Bar Le Tucker, the racoon eyes, the happy smiles of skiers and snowboarders who are enjoying the Mont SUTTON’s great spring conditions slope after slope… the passionate will have so much fun and take advantage of the spring promotions until the last day of the season, on Sunday April 11th.     Until the end of the season, winter sports lovers will be able to ski until the sunset on Saturday April 3rd during the Réal’s Challenge. Not forgetting Easter Sunday at the mountain, where several activities and surprises are organized for the whole family! Last event of the season : the much awaited Snow on the Beach on April 10th.

    The Réal’s Challenge, thought by the visionary of Mont SUTTON, Real Boulanger, is to make sure the mountain, which usually closes at 4p.m., doesn't close before sunset on that day. In fact, for the event, the chairlift II will stay in operation as long as there is at least two people every two chairs. Therefore, the closing time will depend only on the skiers and snowboarders determination or on the sun! A gathering event for skiers that livens up the mountain and even the terrace of the Bar Le Tucker.

    Stoneham’s Arctic Spas Super Splash; A Promising Easter Sunday


    Stoneham, PQ - It’s a unique and spectacular Easter Sunday that skiers and riders will enjoy at Stoneham Mountain Resort on April 4th! The 11th edition of the well-known Arctic Spas Super Splash will be celebrated at the base of the mountain in which, as the tradition goes, skiers and riders will try to ski on water across a 120 foot long artificial lake! The weather forecast is at its best; warm temperatures and sunny skies are expected!

    The most ambitious skiers and snowboarders will put effort and courage together to cross the giant pool of 120 by 30 feet! They will take on the slope in the hopes of gaining enough speed to cross the artificial lake without sinking! Not to worry; professional divers from Nautilus will rescue the castaways and two warm hot tubs will be set up beside the giant pool for the participant to relax and warm up. Each year, 500 people come and enjoy the event and feel the energy! Some adepts even come dressed up to make the show even more exciting!

    Easter, Spring Festivities and Fresh Snow? Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham!


    Beaupre, PQ - From April 2nd to 5th, Easter festivities will take over Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham Mountain Resort with thematic packages and promotions, an on mountain sugar shack, bunnies and chocolates! With nearly 40 cm of fresh snow received during the last week, glide sports enthusiasts from all around will gather to celebrate Easter at the mountain and take advantage of perfect spring conditions! A reminder that it will be the last skiing week-end at Stoneham, although its sister resort stretches out its season until April 25th!

    Easter, BBQs, spas, taffy and live shows!
    At Mont-Sainte-Anne, for the occasion of the Volkswagen Spring Madness festival, which is now a classic, smoking BBQS, exterior spas, inflatable games and live music will entertain the crowd at the base of the mountain. In addition to the miniature farm in which the young and the young at heart will pet the animals, giant bunnies will be giving out more than 2 000 chocolate Easter eggs during the week-end! (Giant bunnies will also be at Stoneham!) Also, it is mandatory to stop by the sugar shack located on the popular and familiar slope La Pichard, where you can try exquisite home-made taffy!

    On April 4th, Stoneham and the Super Splash Arctic Spas welcomes the most ambitious skiers and riders to cross the giant pool of 120 by 30 feet; one of the most spectacular competitions out there! The original challenge is open to everyone, costs $10 and starts at 12:30 pm. Sign up at 8:30 am in the main chalet and practice starting at 10 am.
