Summer at Winter Park is Officially Open

New York Times named Winter Park Resort one of six “Bargain Summer Trips Free From Crowds

Winter Park, CO - Even with lingering snow on the slopes, the 2011 summer season at Winter Park Resort officially opened on Saturday, June 11, 2011. All family base area activities are ready for guests, the Epic Singletrack Series began the first of seven races and life has returned to The Village at Winter Park. Trestle Bike Park is scheduled to open next Saturday, June 18.

Opening day coincides with a recent article published by The New York Times, where Winter Park Resort was honored by being named one of six destinations in a story written by travel editor, Michelle Higgins, titled Bargain Summer Trips Free From Crowds. It highlights a value vacation free from the heat, where lodging prices are drastically reduced in summer versus peak winter travel dates. Winter Park's Frreride Fridays Extended Hours Begin One Week Early at Trestle Bike Park

Winter Park, CO - Freeride Fridays extended bike park hours at Trestle Bike Park will begin one week early in response to guest request and optimal trail conditions due to warm weather and an extremely hard working bike park crew. Every Friday, from 4-7pm, guests will receive discounted lift tickets, discounted equipment rental packages and all the runs they can downhill bike in three hours. Three family-friendly base activities will also remain open, Mountain Mini Golf, Amaze’n Human Maze and the Zephyr Express Scenic Chairlift. With the lingering sunshine and warm summer mountain weather, it made sense to begin the second season of offering extended hours in June.

Winter Park Resort and Trestle Bike Park Will Open for Summer Saturday

Winter Park, CO - The sun is shining, the grass is green, and summer at Winter Park Resort starts Saturday, June 12 with the official opening day. The Zephyr Express chairlift will start running at 9:30 a.m. for bikers to access Trestle Bike Park. Base area activities will open at 10:00 a.m.

Trestle Bike Park is the fastest growing bike park in the United States, home to 33 miles of downhill and freeride trails including 175 stunts and features. Throughout June, Trestle Bike Park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with all day passes available for $34/person. Before you hit the trails, have fun and work on your bike handling skills on two pump tracks or bring the younger riders to practice in the Kids’ Skills Zone, located at the base of the Trestle Bike Park. The bike park crew is also working hard to complete a top to mid-mountain singletrack trail by opening day, Saturday, June 12, 2010. All trail openings are based on conditions and additional trails will open as conditions permit.
