Sleeping Giant Sponsors First Annual Video Contest and Festival

Cody, WY - Sleeping Giant Ski Area is sponsoring a first annual video contest and festival. All aspiring video makers are encouraged to enter their snow sports video that will be judged and shown this spring. There is $1000 in cash prizes and winners get their videos played on various websites including the Powell Tribune, TCT and Sleeping Giant. The winning videos will also be played during the awards ceremony at the Big Horn Cinemas on Friday, April 30. This video contest and festival would not be possible without the support of the sponsors including TCT, Northwest College, Powell Tribune ,Open Range Images and Big Horn Cinemas.

There will be seven different categories and you can enter up to 4. The entry fee is $5 per category. The different categories include Best Overall Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Trick, Best Video Promoting Ski Area, Best Skier in a Video, Best Snowboarder in Video and Best Use of Mountain.

Each video must be 3 minutes in length and no more than 15 minutes. 100% of the video must be shot on any of the 1200 permitted acres of Sleeping Giant. This may also include the lodge, river area and parking lot. You must submit your video by Monday, April 12 at 5PM to Sleeping Giant’s office at 1501 Stampede Ave Suite 3293, Cody or by mail to P.O.
