Sugar Mountain Ski Resort Re-Opens

Banner Elk, NC - Let's try this again! Sugar Mountain Resort in North Carolina reopens today, Friday, November 18, 2011 for skiing and snowboarding after warm temperatures forced the ski area to temporarily shut down on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Snowmaking began early Thursday morning as temperatures dropped into the 20's while natural snow fell much of the day. Snowmaking will continue as temperatures allow.

A six to eight inch manmade packed powder surface covers the Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes providing a run of one mile long. The Summit #1 lift operates to the 3/4's station servicing both slopes for the day and 1/2 day sessions. Today's lift/slope ticket prices are $30 for an adult full-day session and $25 for an adult half-day session.
