It's November and the Skiing and Riding Season is Just around the Corner

Wilmington, NY - It’s November and if you haven’t tuned your skis or board, it’s time to get to it. Weather permitting, skiing and riding at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y., and Gore Mountain, in North Creek, N.Y., is slated to begin Friday, Nov. 23. Belleayre Mountain’s opening day is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24, conditions permitting.

Time is also running out to save on your 2012-’13 skiing and riding seasons pass at Whiteface and Gore mountains. Through Nov. 16, the adult non-holiday pass is available for just $699, while the adult full-season pass is just $869. The young adult and college season pass can be purchased for $385 and the junior pass is only $299.

Meanwhile at Belleayre, the adult mid-week season pass is $318, while the adult full-season pass is on sale for $742. The teen and college is available for just $263.

Season passes at all three mountains is just $210 for 70+ skiers and riders.

All three mountains have been spending the off-season gearing up for the upcoming winter. At Whiteface, snowmaking has been added to the Hoyt’s High Trail, a new Pistenbully 600 W groomer and several new low-energy snowmaking guns have also been purchased. Skiers and riders will also be able to enjoy the newly renovated Base Camp Market (formerly the Base Camp Café) and Cloudspin Lounge, both located in the mountain’s base lodge.

Gore Mountain purchased a new winch cat, a new free groomer and a new multi-season tractor. These upgrades to the grooming fleet closely follow Gore Mountain’s acquisition of 160 new high-efficiency tower guns during 201, and set the resort up for continued superb product quality during the 2012- ‘13 snow season.

The mountain’s sundeck was completely resurfaced with an attractive natural color scheme of patio bricks and underneath the deck is a replacement of the radiant heat system that melts snow and eliminates ice. The popular Tannery Pub & Restaurant was also renovated.

Belleayre has added 3,000 feet of snowmaking pipeline, replacing the Wanatuska snowmaking pipeline and extending the new pipe from the Overlook Lodge to the summit and added several new energy-efficient snowmaking guns to its fleet. Scanners have also been added at the base of the lift so that season pass holders can go straight to the lift to begin their day of skiing and riding.
