Davis, WV - The regularly scheduled themed musical weekends at Timberline Four Seasons Resort ski area this weekend will feature tributes to major country artists. The performances will be by artists who have contributed significantly to this style of music in West Virginia. The tribute weekend will be hosted by the resort in recognition of the contributions of West Virginia to country music heritage.
The performances will take place at the ski lodge from 6 pm until 10 pm on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th. Skiers and the public are invited free of charge.
Roy Scott, legendary star of the state's world famous WWVA Jamboree, together with Jan and Lori of Harmony Scott, will be featured at the performances. Mr. Scott, an MGM recording artist, was a headliner at the Wheeling based jamboree for decades. He was part of the dedicated pioneering group of entertainers appearing every Saturday night. The WWVA was one of the longest standing continuous live radio broadcasts in the nation. Mr. Scott's best known classic country recordings include, "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down" and "I couldn't Believe It was True." More recently, Mr. Scott has become well known for his tributes to the compositions and careers of country music icon, Willie Nelson.
Harmony Scott is a contemporary country western band consisting of the talented Scott sisters. They have been featured on a Nashville Network production of "You Can Be a Star" and they have performed with national acts such as Brad Paisley, Mel Tillis, Roy Clark, Tanya Tucker, Janie Fricke and Marie Osmond.
