New Trails, Clinics and Special Biking Packages Offers Most Affordable Bike Park in the Country

Angel Fire, NM - Angel Fire Bike Park, has gone through an expansion and improvement this spring and starting May 26, the Park will offer over 29 miles of new and enhanced trails for riders of all abilities. In an effort to appeal to the beginner and intermediate rider, the Angel Fire Bike Park has expanded and reworked the trails so beginners will have a safe and controlled environment to learn the sport, improve their basic skills and fine-tune the right technique for difficult sections. The Bike Park also boasts the longest season in the Rockies with all trails open from May 26 - October 16. Along with the revamped terrain the resort is offering deep discounts on passes and lodging packages, creating the most affordable Bike Park in the country.

Located in Angel Fire, New Mexico, Angel Fire Bike Park is a premiere mountain bike destination in the southern Rocky Mountains. Angel Fire, NM - Angel Fire Resort is gearing up for its annual spring break celebration, Fiesta del Sol. March 12-19, the resort will rock the slopes with live entertainment, family-friendly games, and on the snow events. The fun starts on Saturday, March 12 with the Red Bull Buttercup and a USASA Slopestyle event. A face painter will be onsite all week and the Base Camp (a kids and teens fun zone) will host a variety of events such as a ping pong tournament and Rock band competition. On Tuesday, March 15, the resort will sponsor the popular spring break Bud Light Keg Toss.

Whats that I hear?...The Calling of the Flakes? Angel Fire, NM Invites You to the 5th Annual Snowcalling Event

Angel Fire, NM - Angel Fire Resort invites you to attend a unique community wide event, Calling All Flakes. November 13, 6pm-10pm, Angel Fire Resort joins forces with the Angel Fire Association of Property Owners (AAFPO), the Village of Angel Fire and the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce to bring you an annual celebration that rocks the ski Village as we call in the snow for a great winter season. Festivities center around an enormous bonfire and the burning of the Snowzobra made by local artist, Brice Adams. The much anticipated performance by Native American, Will High Eagle Sandoval, will provide the more spiritual tones for the evening as he delivers a traditional smudging ceremony followed by a dance of the gatherers and crescendoing into the traditional circling of the fire.

There is no cover charge for the event but we ask that attendees to bring a canned food item for donation to the local ALMS program. The ALMS organization provides food and support to needy families within the Moreno Valley.

Hot dogs, chips and sodas will be served free of charge. Local non-profit groups will be on site selling hamburgers, soups, s’more kits, hot chocolate, apple cider and a cash bar.

Full Musical Lineup Announced for 2nd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival

A Full Weekend of Camping, Fun and Entertainment Planned for 2010 Festival
Taos, NM - The musical lineup has been finalized for the 2nd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival in Taos Ski Valley, Sunday, September 5th. Headliner Gov't Mule will be joined by bluegrass/rock band Yonder Mountain String Band, blues artist Shemekia Copeland, Spanish reggae band Radio La Chusma, Jazz artist Mia Borders and locally based Mariachi Calor.

"In addition to the great music slated for this year's festival there will be activities and entertainment throughout the entire village all weekend long." says Events Director Alejandro Blake. "Concert/Festival goers will have plenty to enjoy and keep themselves entertained over the holiday weekend."

The 2nd Annual Taos Mountain Music Festival will be a full weekend event with musical acts taking place on the main stage Sunday and Saturday evening at the Stray Dog Cantina's "Pre-fest Party". Santa Fe, NM - The Skiing and boarding is so spectacular that conditions demand that we extend the season an additional week to April 11th. “The string of storms from El Nino has put the snow pack at over 126 inches and we just have to keep going”.

Spring Hours of operation for skiing and boarding at Ski Santa Fe begin on Monday, March 22nd 2010 through closing day April 11th, 2010. Chair lifts will open at 9:30am and close at 4:30pm.

The Ticket, Rental, Snow Sports School, Wintermill Sports Shop and Skier Services will open at 8:30am. Half day - 9:30am to 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 4:30pm.

Lifts accessing the upper mountain, the Millennium and Tesuque Peak Triple chairlifts, will close at 4:15PM and the lower mountain lifts will close at 4:30pm.

All facilities will be open including Snow Sports School, Chipmunk Corner Children’s Center, La Casa Cafeteria (indoors), Totemoff’s Bar, the Wintermill Sports Shop and Rental Shop.

Taos is First Stop for Big Mountain Battle Series

Taos, NM - Taos is getting set to first stop on Helly Hansen’s popular Big Mountain Battle series. The Taos race will take place Feb. 6, before the tour continues at various stops around the country. This is the first year Taos Ski Valley will be included in the celebrated event.
The Big Mountain Battle races challenge two-person teams to intense, three-hour long big mountain courses. At Taos Ski Valley’s race skiers and snowboarders will trek all over the famed mountain resort, hiking up challenging climbs and searching for hidden checkpoints in the woods. First place finishers will win an all-expenses paid trip to Aspen/Snowmass where they’ll represent their Taos Ski Valley in the final Battle in the Bowls on Mar. 28.
The top three teams will be awarded prizes from Helly Hansen, Thule, Powder, Dakine, GoPro Cameras and Smith Optics. Competitors can also win other categories, including Fastest Hike, Most Vertical, Most Runs and Most Lift Rides.
