The Canyons offers the Ultimate Guest Grooming and Snow Cat Experience

Park City, UT - The Canyons Resort announces a brand new guest experience available through our grooming department. Guests will have the opportunity to experience what it is like to operate a groomer or snow cat on the mountain.

These options include the “Ride with a Groomer” package, a $75 package that includes a 2 and a half hour ride in the groomer, this starts at 5:30pm at the base of the gondola. Guests will receive a ride in one of The Canyons’ 330 horse power groomer. This is a full on-mountain and night grooming experience, including an explanation of grooming and what is involved, techniques, challenges and conditions. Guests will get to experience everything from a ride down a steep run to eating a sack lunch on the hill.

The second opportunity is to “Ride with a terrain park operator.” Every night, The Canyons’ terrain parks are meticulously shaped by our terrain park cat operators. Guests will have the opportunity to ride along with the terrain park groomers as they prepare the mountain for the next day. This will be $75 and is a 2-hour ride.

The third opportunity for guests is to “Drive a Snow Cat.” Guests will be able to experience driving a massive snow cat in a controlled situation. An operator from The Canyons will be in the cat with the guest as they feel the 330 horse power of plowing, pushing and tilling technology in their hands. Guests will get to drive, till, turn, plow snow, and even groom a run if they feel comfortable. This will be $500 for a full grooming shift.

Lastly, guests will be able to participate in “The Doc’s Run Parade” every night at about 5:15pm and in the morning at 8am. The entire grooming fleet at The Canyons is unleashed onto Doc’s Run. In the evening, all of the machines head up Doc’s Run on to the rest of the mountain. Guests will have the opportunity to watch the entire fleet head up the hill from the deck of Doc’s run while enjoying a drink or dinner.
