Turoa, NZ - Get your gear out, scrape off the summer wax and get your thermals on, as the Alpine Meadow is opening on Thursday the 17th of June. That's two days earlier than planned! We will be starting up the Magic Carpet for those keen to make a few turns on a fresh blanket of Winter White while the Alpine Cafe serves some of the best breakfasts around. Further facilities will open as conditions allow. Patrol has been up to visit the snow stake at Turoa and they are reporting 80cm with over 10 cm of that falling in the past few days.
Whakapapa is looking good too! There has been snow down to low levels the past few days and snowmaking crews are out in full force. Not long now and things will be humming all over the place. Whakapapa's season is looking good for the 26th of June so no matter where you prefer to ski or ride, we will see you up here very, very soon!
