Freaky Friday and the Saturday Night Ice Shows Also Begin this Weekend
Wilmington, NY - Whether it’s mountain biking, disc golf or a scenic gondola ride, it’s all available beginning this Friday, June 18, at Whiteface, in Wilmington, N.Y.
In the summer, Whiteface doesn’t just hibernate and dream of those deep powder days. Beginning Friday, the eight-person Cloudsplitter Gondola will reopen for the summer and carry passengers from the Main Base Lodge to the top of Little Whiteface. At the summit of Little Whiteface an observation deck and picnic area awaits, as well as breathtaking views of the Adirondack high peaks, Lake Champlain to the east, and even Canada to the north. The cost is $18 for adults and juniors (ages 7-12) and seniors (ages 65+) are $13.
The Whiteface Mountain Bike Park opens for the summer and fall season Friday for a bonus weekend. Riders will have the chance to experience 27 of Whiteface’s mountain bike trails or ride the cross country flume trails from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Bikers access the trails by using the Cloudsplitter Gondola or the mountain bike park bus.
