Mt Ruapehu, NZ - With the recent landing of the big white blanket over Mt Ruapehu things are looking a lot more seasonal around here! Snow to low levels closed the Ohakune Mountain Road for the past few days and Bruce Road to Whakapapa has been restricted to 4wd’s or chains for the past few mornings. We had snow down to Ohakune, National Park, and they even closed the Desert Road for a bit! Snowmaking crews headed up for a night shift and managed to help mother nature along a bit too.
Things are well under way for the projected opening dates of the 19th of June for Turoa and Whakapapa following one week later on the 26th of June. Follow along with us as the place gets ready for the season ahead on our web cams and Video Snow Reports. See you up here soon!
