Sage Cattabriga-Alosa: Flat Spin - Behind The Line Season 3 Premiere
TGR is proud to release the first episode of Behind The Line Season 3, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa: Flat Spin. Behind The Line is a series where we feature a unique line, jump, or session from the filming of TGR's 2011 ski film, Light The Wick. Watch as athletes take a look back at these insane moments and discuss them, providing an in depth look behind the lines of Light The Wick.

Episode 1 joins Sage Cattabriga-Alosa as he develops a new trick--a flat spin--during the season and goes huge with it over a crevasse gap in Alaska. This line won Best Natural Air at this past weekend's 2011 Powder Video Awards, where Light The Wick also won awards for Best Male Performance (Sage), Best Line (Ian McIntosh) and Full Throttle (Dana). TGR Launches The North Face 2011 Ski & Snowboard Photo Contest

Teton Village, WY - Teton Gravity Research & The North Face are proud to announce The North Face 2011 Ski & Snowboard Photo Contest. Through February 2, 2010, all are welcome to submit their top photos from this winter into the Best Powder or Best Freeride categories for a chance to win a North Cascade Heli Trip for two or a $250 The North Face gift card and skis from Atomic.

The 10 photos with the most Facebook "Likes" from each category will make into the finals. From these finalists, The North Face athletes and representatives of the TGR production team will choose a First Place Winner for each category as well as the Grand Prize Winner for Best Overall photo. Prizes will be for two as photography requires both a rider and the documentarian.

Last year's contest amassed an astounding 641 entries with Erik Bro Hostetler's "Wasatch Pow" photo of Colter Hinchcliffe reigning supreme and taking the Grand Prize and Best Powder Category. Copa's "Squaw Valley Air" photo of skier Jamie Blair won last year's Best Air Category.

TGR Offsets 2009’s “Re:Session” with Protect Our Winters

Jackson, WY - Jackson Hole based Teton Gravity Research provided funds to the national environmental organization, Protect Our Winters (POW) to offset 200 tons of CO2 accumulated during the production of this year’s award-winning film, “Re:Session.” Teton Gravity Research is setting the bar by being the first action sports production company to offset its total carbon emissions from a film production.
The film crew and athletes generated carbon emissions through time on airplanes, helicopters, snow machines and automobiles during the 09/10 filming season. The funds will be redirected towards permanently protecting forest in California’s Humboldt County and the credits are verified by the Climate Action Reserve Conservation-Based Forest Management Protocol 2.1.

“POW is proud of our continuing partnership with TGR. They understand that offsets are just part of a responsible corporate environmental strategy and have recognized efficiencies throughout their company to address their overall carbon footprint”, said Chris Steinkamp, Executive Director of POW.

TGR Grom Video Contest - Want to be a Ski Movie Star?

Jackson, WY - Teton Gravity Research is proud to announce the launch of a new video contest, “Want to be a Ski Movie Star?” Skiers 17 years old and younger are being asked to submit a video edit up to 3 minutes in length showcasing their riding talents on the mountain. A panel of TGR athletes and producers will select one up and coming athlete to film on location for TGR’s for 2011 ski and snowboard film. In addition, a shortened version of the winning video will preview before TGR’s 2010 film, Light The Wick. Light the Wick will premier to over 80,000 fans this fall in more than 125 locations worldwide.

Skiers are asked to visit the contest site at TetonGravity.com to upload their videos. Submissions will be accepted until July 25, 2010. Videos will be judged based on the quality of riding and talent. All footage including park, pipe, urban, powder, freeride and the latest progressions are welcome. Music, filming and editing will not be a main judging criteria, although a tight edit with good filming will certainly influence the judges. Judges will include Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Sammy Carlson, and Dylan Hood. The winner will be riding with TGR athletes and filming for a segment in TGR’s 2011 ski film. Do you have what it takes?

1st Annual The North Face Photo Contest on TetonGravity.com

Teton Village, WY - Teton Gravity Research is proud to announce the 1st annual The North Face Photo Contest on TetonGravity.com. The contest runs through January 31st, 2009. Skiers and Snowboarders can submit photos in two categories, Best Powder and Best Air. An overall winner will be chosen from these two categories. Prize packages are awarded in pairs in acknowledgment of the photographer and the athlete that created each photo. The grand prize winners will win a trip to Last Frontier Heliskiing in British Columbia.

The contest is judged by the public, who can share and vote on each photo. Awards include a trip for two to Last Frontier Heliskiing in British Columbia, four pairs of Atomic Blog Skis, 4 Large North Face Duffels, one Raging Viking North Face Jacket and four backcountry setups from Backcountry Access. Each BCA package consists of a backpack, probe, shovel, and avalanche beacon.
