Windham Community Reaches Out to Those in Need

Windham, NY - Recent news has reminded us of how easily our daily lives can be disrupted and how impressively a community can rally to support those in need.

Locally, the town of Ashland (right next to Windham) lost its town hall and fire house in a major fire. The cost to replace the facilities and equipment is expected to be over $1 million. Insurance money will not come close to meeting that cost, as the new facilities will need to be built to updated standards. Windham Mountain would like to help, and we hope you can join us. This Saturday, every ticket window at the mountain will be accepting donations. The resort will match those donations up to $1,000. If you can't make a donation in person, you can mail one to The Town of Ashland Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 129, Ashland, NY 12407.

On a much larger scale is the tragedy of the earthquakes in Haiti. As a company that employs workers from all over this hemisphere, we have a strong sense of solidarity with and empathy for our neighbors to the south. On Saturday, January 23, donations will again be accepted at the resort's ticket windows, matched up to $1,000 and given to the American Red Cross. We thank you in advance for anything you can give.
