US Ski Mountaineering National Championship at Jackson Hole

Teton Village, WY - The US Ski Mountaineering Championship presented by Marmot, is an endurance race without equal. Now in its 10th year the “Randonee Rally,” as it is often referred to, takes participants on a human-powered wild ride through some of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s most exciting terrain.

Starting in the Teton Village base area with skins on, the race draws competitors high into the Tetons before sending them down some of the most precipitous Jackson Hole classics. The race culminates with an airy climb up Corbet’s Couloir via a vertical ladder to the cheers of onlookers. In celebration of its 10th year race organizers Forest Dramis and Cary Smith worked closely with JHMR Ski Patrol to create an entirely new 7800’ race course, and a 3800’recreational course, for the uninitiated.

Cary Smith, race organizer and the 2006 National Champion comments: “With almost 8,000 feet of climbing and descending the new race course sets a new standard for Ski Mountaineering races in North America. It takes a mountain like Jackson Hole, and the unparalleled community of athletes that live here to create an event like this. It is going to be a ski mountaineering ‘tour de force,’ and the ultimate way to test your big mountain endurance. The prizes this year are unbelievable, thanks in large part to Marmot. We hope you’ll join us!”
