"Free Seniors Only Clinics"

Incline Village, NV - Diamond Peak Ski and Snowboard School is proud to announce they will be having 2 FREE “Seniors Only Clinics”. It is for anyone over 55 years old who may not have had a lesson in years or may have shaped skis. The purpose of these clinics is to show people how to ski more effectively and extend their ski days and years on the snow with new contemporary movement patterns.

The “Seniors Only Clinics” will be held on March 10th and 24th from 10am-12pm. This 2 hour clinic will be one part social, one part educational and three parts fun. Come join us and experience what it feels like to ski like a kid again. Lessons will meet at the Base Lodge in the Fireside room at 9:30am. No reservation required.

Learn to Ski & Burton Learn to Ride Week March 8-12th

Incline Village, NV - After watching the Winter Olympics are you ready to learn a new snow sport? How about skiing or snowboarding? Diamond Peak is offering an amazing deal March 8-12th. Learn to ski and ride for only $29! We have dedicated an entire week to teach you a new sport or improve your skiing and riding skills. First timers and novices get a beginner lift ticket, a lesson and rentals for only $29.

Diamond Peak is a great place to learn with wide, easy to navigate slopes and professionally trained ski and snowboard instructors. Diamond Peak ‘s lack of crowds, non-intimidating environment and super friendly staff will make your first experience unforgettable and a solid foundation for your new sport addiction. The beautiful lake views from almost every run will invigorate you. Diamond Peak is the perfect mountain for families and beginners with a variety of ski and snowboard packages for all ages and abilities.
The first-time beginner package costs $69 for a 1 hr 45 min lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket, but during March 8-12th you get all of this for only $29, a $40 savings!
There’s plenty of room for everyone. This special is available for ages 7 and up; lessons start at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. We suggest arriving at Diamond Peak one hour before lesson time. Learn to Ski and Burton Learn to Ride Week offer is not transferable to any other dates.

Diamond Peak Presents the Burton Jiblet Series

Incline Village, NV- The Burton Jiblet Series at Diamond Peak is a jam style competition for Intermediate/Advanced skiers and snowboarders of all ages to showcase their most awesome trick on our feature. There will be 3 competitions throughout the season with the Burton Invitational on April 3 and 4th for all participants who qualify. The first stop for the Burton Jiblet Series is on January 16th. The competition will take place on special features in front of the Base Lodge deck. The event is open to skiers and snowboarders of intermediate/advanced abilities.

Special features will be made just for the Burton Jiblet. It’ll be a jam-style format with a winner-take-all cash prize for each of the Open divisions in the Burton Invitational. The price of the event is $10. All of the registration money goes into a winner-take-all pot.
Awards ceremony will be held after each competition. The open division will be competing for cash prizes and there will be great prizes for all the divisions.For more information regarding this event, please contact Barb Archer at 775-832-1120.

Learn a Snow Sport Month

Incline Village, NV - Diamond Peak is joining the national effort of the snow sport industry to promote “Learn a Snow Sport Month.” They are offering programs during January 2010 for children and adults who want to learn a snow sport or who want to improve their skills. This effort is to get family and friends outside in the winter to learn new activities and get some exercise.
Diamond Peak has a Burton Snowboard Learn to Ride Center. They offer Burton’s specially designed snowboards which are softer flexing and easier to turn. Jake Burton Carpenter, founder of Burton snowboards, states in the National Ski Area Association Journal “Through the continued efforts of our Learn to Ride partner resorts, we are seeing increased retention rates for first-time riders, with some resorts reporting retention of up to 80 percent.”
In addition to Diamond Peak’s daily programs they are offering lesson packages for just $29 to learn to ski or ride during the week of January 11-15th. This package includes 1 hour 45 minute group lesson, equipment and beginner lift ticket. Learn to Ski and Burton Ride Week is available for ages 7 and up; lessons start at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. For ages 4-7 group lessons are $70.

Diamond Peak / Hyatt Regency Poker Run


Incline Village, NV- Diamond Peak and Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe are hosting the second annual poker run on January 3, 2010. The event is from 10:00am- 12:00pm. Registration is at the Diamond Peak base lodge at 9:00 am and the entry fee is $10, which includes a T-shirt. There are five dealers at different locations on the mountain with a deck of cards. Each participant is given a game card with clues on where to find the dealers. Participants will ski or snowboard around until they find all the dealers. After their poker hand is completed they return it to the base lodge. The award ceremony will be on the outside deck where the top five hands will win prizes. Diamond Peak will also offer live music by Under the Radar.
