This week, Helping Hands of New York is asking for your assistance as the local food pantry is seeking donations to help restock its shelves following the busy holiday period. Helping Hands of NY provides as many as 750 people with food and basic essentials during these trying times. Representatives will be on the mountain this Wednesday and Thursday seeking donations from the Belleayre family. Drop off some spare change or write a check to this worthy cause and help those who are having trouble making ends meet.

Santa Claus Rides for Free at Camelback Mountain Resort on Christmas Eve


Tannersville, PA - Santa Takes a Break Before Big Night

Camelback Mountain Resort will celebrate the season with its annual Skiing Santa’s Day on Thursday, December 24. All skiers and snowboarders dressed as seasonal characters will be eligible for a free lift ticket for the day. “Being out on the slopes and seeing Santa and the characters is great,” said Charles Blier, general manager. He continued, “It brings the holiday spirit to the resort.”

To receive your all day pass please report to Guest Services before 10am on Christmas Eve Day fully dressed as Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, an elf or reindeer. A group photo will be taken at 11am.

Timberline Ski Resort's Winterfest Celebration

Davis, WV - The ski slopes and the ski lodge at Timberline Four Seasons Resort will be alive with activity during the resort’s annual Winterfest celebration, December 26 – January 3rd. The traditional protracted holiday celebration begins the day after Christmas and extends through the New Year’s weekend. In addition to the many family holiday celebrations being held throughout the villages of Timberline, the ski lodge will be alive with activity and service food, beverage and providing entertainment from 6 am until closing at 2 am.

Visitors can choose to ski any of the variety of ski trails. Timberline is noted for spectrum of trails including one-third beginner, one-third intermediate and one-third difficult. Families may enroll children in the well recognized children, ski program, available every day during Winterfest. Food service is available daily at 6 am in the Timberhaus cafeteria and 11- 2 am in the Fireside Grill and Timbers Pub, all within the ski lodge. During the Winter Fest there will be almost around the clock activities in the lodge and live entertainment every night from December 26 through January 2: December 26- DJ Dub, December 27 and 28- J.B. Homewood, CA - All Terrain and Chair Lifts Scheduled for Opening Day

West Shore Lake Tahoe’s Homewood Mountain Resort will open to skiers and snowboarders Friday, December 18. Due to this month’s banner snow storms (five-plus feet of snowfall thus far), all chair lifts and 100 percent of Homewood’s terrain will be available on opening day.

Recent cold temperatures have been advantageous for snowmaking as well. “The mountain has had great success with making snow this December,” said Kent Hoopingarner, general manager at Homewood Mountain Resort. “Snowmaking efforts, combined with natural snow accumulation, have given the mountain incredible conditions for opening day and beyond,” he added.

New KSR Opens for 2010 Winter Fun

The weekend of Dec 19th will start the 2009/2010 season off in style with Chalet and Fanny Runs serviced by the T-Bar Lift in operation from 9:00am to 4:30pm Saturday.

The Temperatures over the past week have been excellent for snowmaking operations which went into full operation on Dec 6th.
